Carp Netting Ends For Season

Carp Netting Ends For Season

06/22/2021

Our 10-day, first-time carp netting for 2021 has ended with a result of 2,513 invasive carp netted. That translates to approximately 25,000-37,000 pounds or 12.5 to 18.8 tons. We are very happy with the results and thank Anton Reutov of Spokane, WA for coordinating our effort to reduce this biomass. In shallow lakes, invasive carp stir up bottom sediments which muddies the water and releases harmful nutrients present in the lake bed. These harmful nutrients include phosphorous which feeds toxic algae.
